At the ETL member meeting on Oct. 18, several rules changes were implemented by vote of the member programs. Key changes include:

  • A requirement of a positive vote by 2/3 of ETL programs to enact rule changes
  • Elimination of the BCI substitution rule
  • 6th Grade programs allowed to play zone defense from the start of the season, rather than starting Jan. 1
  • Change to the Mercy Rule to require teams leading by 20 or more points to retreat on defense inside the half-court line, rather than the 3-point line
